Es apabullante la presencia de la ciudad de Nueva York en el mundo de la fotografía de arquitectura. Buscando fotógrafos de prestigio que hayan trabajado este tema en blanco y negro, mire donde mire, casi siempre encuentro a gente de EEUU o afincada allí. Son los que tienen fama y prestigio académico, y más presencia en la red; casi es como si no hubiera otros. Para más INRI, la mayoría tenían base en Nueva York, y sus edificios son el tema de un buen porcentaje de las fotografías que encuentro sobre el tema.

Pero no estoy muy preocupado; si las cosas son así, así son y de alguna manera se tiene que notar en mi selección.

Solamente entre Irving Underhill y Berenice Abbott puede que salgan más de 15 fotografías de Nueva York en Ars Photographica. No es algo intencionado sino fruto de las circunstancias.
